I'm not very good with patterned paper, and am trying to get better . . . it prolly has to do with me just hating the idea of covering up beautiful paper--especially paper as lovely as this. I love the sweet little blossoms and vines and, oh, my! the colors . . .
The layout is pretty simplistic--in this case, I had to be very careful or the overall design became so intricate that the focal image got "swalloped up", for lack of a better term . . . using pale tones of chalk, after stamping the sentiment, seemed to enhance that area, rather than detract from it, so I'm glad I experimented with it. I stamped the little blossoms using 2nd generation ink (ink stamp, stamp off once onto scratch paper, and then stamp onto the project with the remaining ink still left on the image), so they wouldn't be quite so intense. The centers seemed to beg for a little something, hence the tiny clear crystal stickers.

I noticed this card on your blog and really appreciated it. I like a sympathy card that is still beautiful, not overly 'flowery' for lack of a better word.

Just delightful, Julie! Wonderful job balancing that lovely patterned paper (that Blush collection dazzles me) and the focal image. And the images work so well with the pattern in the paper. TFS. Linda
