I'm not very good with patterned paper, and am trying to get better . . . it prolly has to do with me just hating the idea of covering up beautiful paper--especially paper as lovely as this. I love the sweet little blossoms and vines and, oh, my! the colors . . .
The layout is pretty simplistic--in this case, I had to be very careful or the overall design became so intricate that the focal image got "swalloped up", for lack of a better term . . . using pale tones of chalk, after stamping the sentiment, seemed to enhance that area, rather than detract from it, so I'm glad I experimented with it. I stamped the little blossoms using 2nd generation ink (ink stamp, stamp off once onto scratch paper, and then stamp onto the project with the remaining ink still left on the image), so they wouldn't be quite so intense. The centers seemed to beg for a little something, hence the tiny clear crystal stickers.

The card was received yesterday Jules and so appreciated. It's one of the prettiest sympathy cards I've received since my brother passed away. I'm going to put them all into a pocket page for his scrapbook album. Thank you so much for carrying me in your heart during this difficult time. It is heartfelt.

This card is wonderful! It brings out the "vintage card" essence while at the same time being funky and update. The paper choices and colors are phenonmenal. GREAT JOB!!!
