This was a fun page to do. While making it, I made sure I used the same technique that I'll be showing this week at my monthly Club members, so that they see how the technique can be adapted to scrapbooking. (Hint: Look at my border.)
To make the title, I searched the Net for a toon-y font and found one that had already the shading done for me!!! (Toony Noodle) So I printed my title twice - once on Saffron and once on Pumpkin, cut out the middle of the O's with my craft knife and cut out the rest of the letters with the paper snips, used a dauber to add some shading with ink on the Saffron, layered the letters, and voilà ! The idea to layer the letters on a oval shape came from the picture of Toowtown's billboard (see pic on my page).
At the bottom of the page, I added "Smile, darn ya, smile..." If you're a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" fan, you'll get the reference ;)
Finally, to make a prize ribbon similar to the one in the top picture, I used one of the sticker flower from the SS kit, a white gros-grain ribbon I had previously dyed Carribean blue, and a Mickey eyelet I bought while in Disney World.
My Rose Red pattern paper was made with Heat 'n Stick and two colors of Pearl Ex (Gold and Duo yell0w-green).
Thanks for looking!
