This isn't a great picture..it definitely doesn't do it justice.
My upline's upline sent her entire downline these papier mache (sp?) ornaments
and asked that we all decorate them using only SU! supplies. We then displayed
them at a dinner she hosted and voted on our favorites. There were 4 total
ornaments and I won! Woo Hoo!
I got the idea for the ice skate when I was sitting at my stamp table and spied
the punch out from the horizontal slot punch. I just thought it looked like an
ice skate blade. My idea took off from there. I hand drew the "boot" and cut
two of them out. I then attached the "blades" with two more thin pieces of
brushed silver cardstock and added the silver cord bows.
I got the idea of adding "makeup" to the little pink elephant from Amy Rysavy.
She "painted" the elephant's toenails! It was my idea for the lipstick, but
I definitely got the whole makeup idea from Amy. Thanks again for the
inspiration Amy! I used the tiny heart stamp from my new "Small Sayings"
set to apply the lipstick. I was pleased as punch with the effect, I have to
tell you!
The background was created by applying white craft ink directly to the ornament
and using my heat tool to dry it most of the way. I then stippled Cool
Caribbean reinker on the top portion and sprinkled Irredescent Ice embossing
powder over the whole thing. It only stuck to the parts that were still wet. I
wrapped celery ribbon around the edges and used brads to tack it in place.
I can never get rid of Wild About You! Every really clever idea I have come up
with lately has involved this set! Anyway, sorry for the book and thanks so
much for looking!
