I made “baby’s first year” scrapbooks for two friends of mine last year and I’m just now getting around to posting the pictures. Each month has a two-page layout done in seasonal colors and each one has a space for a 5x7 photo and several smaller ones. I wrote the sizes for the pictures on the mats so the new moms would be able to tell what size pictures they’d need to put in each place. I also left space for journaling (the white block). Titles for each month were done with a Sizzix machine.
We donÂ’t get a whole lot of snow in North Carolina, but I figured IÂ’d go for the seasonal thing and put snowmen on here anyway. I stamped the snowman in black and then watercolored in his hat, scarf, and nose and made him into an accent block. The torn white border is stamped with the swirls in Ballet Blue (my favorite blue!). ItÂ’s kind of hard to tell since there arenÂ’t pictures put in place on this, but the mat on the focal point 5x7 photo on the left page is meant to fold over the very edge of the picture and itÂ’s stamped with snowflakes. Had to heat emboss the white snowflakes around the title because they didnÂ’t show up at all just clear embossed. The long skinny white piece on the left page is for journaling; the white space on the right page is for a 4x4 photo. The other photos are either 3x5 or 3.5x5.
