Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Techniques: Watercoloring with AquaPainter
I made “baby’s first year” scrapbooks for two friends of mine last year and I’m just now getting around to posting the pictures. Each month has a two-page layout done in seasonal colors and each one has a space for a 5x7 photo and several smaller ones. I wrote the sizes for the pictures on the mats so the new moms would be able to tell what size pictures they’d need to put in each place. I also left space for journaling (the white block). Titles for each month were done with a Sizzix machine.
After I finished these books my mom said I should have done this theme for June instead of August so they could be June bugs. Oh well. I figured out how to use Yoyo Yellow on a scrapbook page without it screaming—use small quantities!! The two butterflies and the dragonfly are stamped on Whisper White, cut out, and then watercolored using ink from the ink pad lids. I thought about coloring in the bugs on the mat for the 5x7 picture, but it made it look way too busy so I left them just plain black and white. The spaces on the right hand page are for two 3x3 pictures…had to do them that small to fit with the 5x7.
