This card came about because I was trying to copy a card by one of my favorite splitcoast stampers "Dartella" but it didn't turn out so I turned it into this. Completely different from the one I was trying to copy. (Well, the background is similar) She inspired me to try watercolor backgrounds. Which I love!

How beautiful! It reminds me of a lone bird singing away on a brisk wintry day. I love it! How did you water color your background? Did you stamp the bird and leaves in rose red or is it my eyes? Love the script in the background.

I used chocolate chip to stamp the bird and leaves. Ooops if I didn't put that earlier.
I just guessed on how to make the watercolor backgrounds. I don't know if this is the right way but the way I do it is by soaking the whisper white in water until it is fully saturated and then I pull it out and drop a drop of ink on the paper of whatever colors I want to use and swirl it aroun until the entire paper is colored then I set in on a paper towel and let dry. Sometimes I put salt on it because it makes cool marks and sometimes I drip bleach on it as I did on this one. Try it, it's fun to see what you can come up with. Good luck.

sometimes I leave a thin layer of water on the top of the cardstock or drop some water on it in order to spread the ink. I also usually drop the ink on the edge and let it bleed down the card. On this card I used garden green at the top and barely banana at the bottom and let them mix in the middle. Also, after they're dry I iron them to keep them flat.
sometimes if you have patterned papertowels the ink will concentrate where the patterned part touches the paper and it makes a cool effect. (I hope that wasn't too confusing!) :???: (patterned as in quilted and not with printed stuff on it)
