Our Featured Stamper, Pat aka contrapat, creates by the following maxim: IF IT'S WORTH DOING; IT'S WORTH OVERDOING. And, she does go BIG on her cards. My personal maxim: A2, A2, A2. Pat's Gallery is filled with creativity and inspiration and I was inspired by this beauty: Copper Creation by contrapat at Splitcoaststampers
I was attracted by the warm, rich color of the copper as well as the sheen from the powders. So rich and beautiful. I wanted to see if I could recreate her look using stamps. You can; but I didn't and this is one of "those cards" that went its own direction instead of mine.
I started by stamping with bronze metallic ink on white but it was blah so I switched to green. For some reason the bronze ink turned more gold on the paper. Green was blah too so I painted in the blooms with metallic paint. I picked the most copper looking of my paints which turned out to have little copper about it but a very lovely light pink hue. It all looked too subtle and subdued, so I die cute the roses and placed them on black to give them some oomph. I wanted to add some embellishments, but at this point I didn't even know what color to use so I just left them off. In the end I kept Pat's metallics and roses but changed the layout, colors and stamps instead of embossing.
Congratulations Pat on being selected Featured Stamper. Your Gallery is great and filled with such joy. I hope that joy was returned to you with the cards made in your honor. And, I hope everyone is having a joyful day. TFL

Deb, it's a lovely card! I'm glad to hear others have a card fight back, lol. It's been great fun, seeing what got made using my gallery as inspiration. I am totally honored.

Beautiful! This streak of creativity and the softness of this layered design on the black is perfect. Love the roses and the die-cut on the oval...
