The color challenge for this week was tough, I didnât have much in the way of inks or markers close to these colors, so I relied on patterned paper for most of it. I used the card sketch for today though a few elements got moved around for fit.
I cut a rectangle of teal green cardstock and dry embossed with a lattice folder and glued to the front of a blank notecard with light pink edges. I figured the best way to get the two shapes for the corner of the sketch was to attach strips of patterned paper to a cardstock scrap and then cut at an angle. I glued the triangle to the upper corner. The fuchsia/berry paper is from a Jane Davenport pad and the teal one is from a Park Lane Joannâs pad.
I took another piece of the fuchsia paper and cut the large swirly circle with it using the largest circle die from SU Beautiful Shapes, then diecut the next smallest circle from the teal cardstock. I used the dies from SU Whimsical Trees to cut a tree from the other pattern paper and cut the ornaments from some fuschia glitter paper. I glued the ornaments to the tree and the tree to the teal circle, then glued that to the larger swirly circle. I stamped the sentiment on pale pink cardstock and cut out with a banner die and glued that to the card front. To fit the circle into the card without covering any of the sentiment, I moved it up from where the original design had it, and attached with foam tape. It needed something toward the bottom so I attached two strips of metallic washi tape to a piece of cardstock, trimmed, and glued to the card.
Dessert for the color challenge is sparkles, with the glitter paper ornaments and metallic glitter washi!
