Congratulations to Renata aka Renata Joyner, this week's featured stamper chosen by Nancy. Wonderful gallery to browse. I needed to make a card for our neighbour who is so excited to be paying off her mortgage on Nov. 9th. I got my inspiration from this sweet card: Time of need by Renata Joyner at Splitcoaststampers
Changed from a heart to a house die, kept her red and white theme and added in crumbcake. Different sentiment. A nod to her heart theme-I popped the heart up with 3 mini dimensionals.
I need new cutting plates! Mine are so marked up they are leaving an unwanted impression. I tried to sponge on the edge to hide it and irl it will do. The camera really picked it up though.
Anyways, I hope you have a fun week, Renata seeing how you have inspired us.

You were well inspired and created one delightful card. I love how the red house just pops off the white and the crumb cake bgs. Adding the heart was perfect. I just adore this card and I am sure your friend will feel the same. So great to pay off a mortgage. Fav'd.
I feel your pain with the cutting plates -- so annoying. Sometimes (not always) if you rub the areas with a bone folder it will get rid of the creases/marks (I start by rubbing on the back and if that doesn't work flip it over to the front and if that doesn't work, cuss). Good luck.

Love your card and that it is for such a happy occasion! I finally learned how to avoid etching my plates, but remember cutting (or folding) a sheet of thin printer paper to shield my project from the plate. That helped for a while!

Love that sweet house and heart die - sooooo cute. Your texture from your die cutting plate looks cool to me! You know how I love a little distressing. This card is perfect for your neighbor. So happy for her too - that is a big accomplishment.
Many hugz to you, Shirl.

Super cute! Love the house. The raised heart is sweet. Great colors. Terrific case. The commenters gave you some good tips regarding the cutting plates. I use my bone folder to rub out any unwanted creasing, too. I have a set of plates for embossing and a different set for die-cutting. When the die-cutting plates get too bad, I switch over the used plates (for embossing) and get out a new set for embossing. The plates are one of those consumable items in our crafting, but we do what we can to make them last as long as possible. Love your card.

Shirl, this is a darling card to help your neighbor celebrate!! Just love that offset heart ..... this is a wonderful case of Renata's card! Isn't it awful the way our cameras pick up every tiny flaw on our cards!!

What a wonderful card for your neighbor to mark this momentous occasion, Shirl! Great case of Renata's card Congrats to your neighbor indeed. I think your card looks lovely - I don't see what you are seeing about the marking your card - but I hope you can get new plates for your cutting machine soon.
