We are reminiscing today - and after caressing my grandmother's pearl necklace I went on to create this card as I remembered her and my larger than life Grandad. As a youngster I made an unholy noise trying to play their piano as Grandad tried to read the newspaper. Nanny created beautiful lace ... I cherished them both and wish I had had more time with them.
I started by distressing the background paper, and secured to the card front. Added music paper and newsprint. Distressed the lace with a Vintage Photo wash, added the image and resin words I bought in Las Vegas in 1999 and they were still sticky ... more wonderful memories ... and finally ... 2 strings of pearls in honour of the precious necklace. I am sending this to MY granddaughter!

What a special card full of memories. I like that you included the pearls - I have my grandmother's pearl necklace. And I certainly still have assorted lace doilies and so on. Fabulous vintage card.

Amazing Vintage style card. I had to check twice to see who had made this. This is such a different style for you and you definitely rose to the challenge and made such a special card.

This is a beautiful card, Sandie. I feel like every element is specific to one of your memories, and I hope you get a chance to sit with your granddaughter and share every single one of those memories.
