It is my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week. Just in time for 4th of July, here's my challenge for the week: Real Red, Basic White, Pacific Point, with "Patriotic" as the dessert option.
My little Deco Gnome is all decked out for Independence Day with his red, white and blue outfit and his flag. The gnome is fun to put together, but does take a little time. What I'm most tickled about on this card are the streamers and confetti stencils. I used only the Pacific Point ink pad for the streamers, but there are two stencils, so I went heavy on one and very light on the other, to give the two-tone effect. There is a separate stencil for the confetti. I assembled the greeting from a set of letters that snap together. They're straight across the bottom, but I don't think these people have learned about kerning . . . .
I hope you'll join us in the gallery this week with a patriotic card. There are lots of countries that have red, white and blue flags, so please pick your favorite and play along with us!
