Okay - although my bg got a bit "glompy", I am totally in love with this simple way to paint birch trees!! I think they have such a commanding presence (much better than my expensive dies!)
I need to let my eyes rest and then try this again with a bit more Pre-planning.

Gorgeous! The lines in your trees look so real. Great job on the challenge. I like your background and the green grasses at the bottom. I left you a little note when you commented on the forum.

oOH WOW, I was totally oogling the aspen trees on the drive today, and they grow in clumps around pine trees here so, this looks totally cool to me. I love how your bark turned out too Linda

Your trees look so realistic! And I really like your evergreens in the bg...looks like it could be in the norther part of my state. I hear ya about all the dies ets...when we can paint ones like this who needs them!

Great take on the technique. You really created some awesome realistic trees. Beautiful addition of the fir trees and grass. Great addition to the gallery. TFS
Oh, wow! Your scene is stunning! I agree, I just love this technique! It's so much fun. I like your grasses and deep blue sky. I don't think there are Aspens in the Smokey's but this painting still reminds me of the area around Klingman's Dome! Beautiful.

I like the artsy forest you've created, the mix of the white birch trees and the green grass and trees make them really pop and you've got a great dimension!!
