The two first things I really knew about Dorothy were that she had taught French, I'm sure I remember her mentioning visiting France, and that they travelled in an RV half the year.
So, I tried ghosting French Script as a background, but it's not very visible, maybe a bit more in the grass area. I dry-embossed the frame with a stitched rectangle die, and added the Eiffel Tower and a camper (sorry, no RV). Added the sentiment and a couple of clouds, and will send this off to Erling tomorrow.

Yes I can see a bit of the script in the grass, and you've got a lot of Dorothy's favorites in your design, the love of France, the traveling, the script reminding the teacher, and your sentiment is perfect for Erling, love the colors you've used for this card, pretty camper too

We have a 1973 Shasta camper similar to this one and it's blue and white too. I like how you added the camper to your French card, Sabrina. Using the French script and Eiffel Tower are great additions to the travel theme~

Love your addition of the camper in front of the Eiffel tower. It isn't something I would have thought to do but it works so well together especially for this challenge. Love the stitched frame.

I smiled as soon as I saw this because I pictured you and your DH on a camping trip around France. I love the soft colors you used for the bg as it beautifully highlights that sweet trailer. I am sure Erling will be reminded of many happy times both in their RV and in France. And, I can see a bit of the script in the grass. Fabulous card.

That is the cutest camper! Your Eiffel Tower is perfect for Dorothy’s French connection, of course, and I really like the dry embossed frame - never tried that, so thanks also for the new idea! Great card for Erling.
