I can't decide if this will be my son's birthday card or my brother's retirement card. I need both. We'll see what else I come up with today and then decide.
The impossible card technique is really fun and not impossible. The harder part is decorating both sides and not letting anything stick over the top. I almost did it--only a little of his hat peeks over the top.
I used the chalk marker to color the bird and the clouds. The linen thread becomes worn ropes on the dock--as well as adding interest to the base on one side.
I was inspired to do a dockside scene by this pin from Rachel Turbull's Pinterest Board "Tranquility". https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/280982464233714267/ I love the way the water meets the sky and tried to do that on my card, but decided it needed a little more separation--so I doodled a horizon. There were also many boats on this board...
