This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had an optional theme of "outdoor fun". I rotated the sketch 180-degrees and made the card as a Double Z-Fold. There is an excellent sketch for dimensions at: http://stampingmadly.com/2017/01/17/...gonfly-dreams/
I used extra strong Scor-Tape to attach the narrow Z-Fold strip to the front of the card, and to the far right edge inside since the card would be open and closed several times. I also added two strips of "boulders" inside the square of the fold so I could attach the skunk. The measurements for these strips are 1-1/2" tall by 3-1/4" long. I scored both ends of the two strips 1/4" in so they could be attached inside the square with Scor-Tape.
The boulder strips were created by stamping the "cloud" stamp from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Sunshine & Rainbows" set. I used two different shades of gray and two shades of brown to randomly stamp the "rocks" on the strip, then used scissors to trim the tops of the "rocks" along the strip. I also used a fine point black marker to add lines to the "rocks".
The two foxes were created by stamping them on thick white cardstock using SU Cinnamon Cider ink. I then scanned both using my Brother ScanNCut and cut them out with no margin. Note that the two stamped fox images have white gaps between the heads/tails and the bodies. To successfully scan these as one single piece, you need to lightly draw a pencil line connecting the bodies to their heads and tails so the scanner doesn't scan them as three separate shapes. After cutting out, just erase your pencil marks.
Then I used blank white cardstock and cut two more of the foxes to stack behind each to give them rigidity. The skunk was created by punching the head and body out of black cardstock. Then punching the tail stripe, chest/forehead, and eye patches out of white cardstock. I put the white tail back in the punch and punched both sides of the stripe to make it narrower before gluing it onto the black tail.
The skunk was attached to the "boulders" inside the card using Scor-Tape, as was the fox on the front of the card.
The stump was stamped with SU Soft Suede ink onto SU Kraft cardstock, then fussy cut with paper snips. It was then attached inside the card with foam tape. The fox on the stump was also attached with foam tape.
Finally, the sentiment from SU "Approaching Perfection" was stamped using SU Just Jade ink onto white cardstock, then cut out with scissors and glued to a mat of the same color cardstock as the ink.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "4" out of a possible "5". It would have been easier if I hadn't made the boulder wall or three different animals. But I like the result, so it was worth it!
