I've used the triple cube tutorial but added cubes on both sides to make it a table center, in the middle you can put flowers or use it as a pencils pot, I've found some fun design papers, from a safari block, I've die cut the leaves sponged with brown and added gold paint, the 4 wooden safari animals: elephant, monkey, giraffe and lion are colored with alcohol markers.
This folds flat and is going to a young boy for his birthday.

These kinds of projects are awesome. Not something I could ever do. I hate having to measure for things to work out so perfect. I am too right brained for math skills it takes.
