I have played and had fun with this Carved Wood Background Technique this afternoon. I could not get any impression with the stencil though, no matter how thick I made the sandwich on my big shot, so reverted to using and embossing folder. So, by the time I used the ScorBuddy to score the lines, I think it is still the same effect. My DH liked it.
I swiped with Soft Suede, then with Faded Jean distress ink. I used the depressed side rather than the raised side. You can see the other side on my blog.
Thanks for looking, and thank you Lyn for the new technique!

beautiful result with the Ef, if you use a stencil you need a silicone pad, if you don't got that it will be impossible to have an impression and then you need to respect the order of layers, so I'm glad you used an EF because you've made a terrific Christmas card!!

Your BG turned out great! I love that EF. I still have it too and don't use it enough. I may have to use it now for this technique. Your little tree is great in the white. It looks all snowy like all the snowflakes!

Sharon, I posted a link to some sandwiches in the challenge thread. But anyway, even though I do like using stencils for embossing, I used an ef too - and Gina's earlier video that was the one I found first a couple of weeks ago was all embossing folders. As you same, same look, really. Yours looks fantastic - it reminds me of one of my favourite packs of Christmas DP from BoBunny.
