My friend loves mermaids so I am adding another to her birthday collection this year. Last year was a cute Mo's image, so this year is back to the more elegant A Day for Daisies collection.
After I stamped the background, I laid the printed image on top to see if I could figure out how to color her. I decided she should be white and silver. I have seen several card artists, like Yana Smakula, color in their backgrounds with dark colors to add drama so I thought I would try that. Here's a link to one of Yana's card using that concept: https://www.yanasmakula.com/simon-sa...-series-video/
I didn't color the mermaid, but made dots on her tail with my two lightest gray Copics (C00, C1) and painted the end of the tail with metallic silver paint, I figured a mermaid would only want a fancy crystalline glass slipper, so I used Crystal Ice Stickles on the shoe. I decided she needed some glitz to really make her shine, so her hair got the Stickles treatment too. I just have to note, the stickles always look better in real life than in my scans/pics.
The sentiment is computer generated using the Calibri font. I took another trick from Susie Australia and printed it on copy paper instead of cardstock so I could wrap it around the card.
Hope you are having a great day. And, no matter what they may be, I hope all your wildest dreams come true too. TFL

Oh wow, you have done it again....I should know by now, that before I look at your card, I need to get my credit card out! You cost me extra money today....not only do I have to go a Day for Daisies shopping, but I checked out the link LOL. I digress, your card is fabulous. Both of your backgrounds look great and I love the mermaid, perfect amount of colouring and details. Her shoe is the icing on the cake. I hope you can tell how much I love this Debbie.

The mermaid is amazing and I love all of the detail you put into this fabulous image. I haven't heard of this company yet but now I need to go explore, looks like it is right up my alley. Thanks for sharing!
