I made this card for the Tuesday Teapot Challenge by Jen to create a card using pens or a pen image on your card. This card will be sent to Sabrina's friend, Barbara who is recovering from surgery. She likes flowers, birds, nature, etc., so I thought these cute ladybugs would bring Barbara some cheer.
I used watercolor to create my background wash with greens and yellow. I stamped a leaf, magnifying glass and 5 ladybugs. I die cut the magnifying glass, leaf and ladybugs, then watercolored the images. I drew 4 more leaves with a black micron pen, fussy cut and watercolored them. I glued a piece of acetate behind the magnifying glass. I drew the end of a leaf a bit larger than my stamped leaf and put it and a ladybug underneath the magnifying glass. I attached the leaves and ladybugs with 3D pop dots. I also drew little dots for the ladybugs' paths and some lines to indicate movement around top ladybug.
I stamped the sentiment and added glitter highlights to the leaves. I layered this onto a green panel and a yellow card.

Gracie, this is soooo fun! Love your watercoloring, leaves, and ladybugs - the magnifying glass is the perfect addition. Reminds me of a memory: my oldest DD decided to do a science fair project figuring out what lady bugs' favorite color is. We ordered a giant box of ladybugs to do it. We had thousands of ladybugs around and in our house for years. We became very fond of them. She thought they would like green but they picked whatever looked like a way out of the box. Next they liked white (because it was closest to the color of the way out of the box). Fun. Beautiful card sure to be loved. Hugz

I love your wash of green and yellow as a base for your leaves...it's an abstract look but then you added the detailed leaves...great design! Those ladybugs add a wonderful pop of color. Love it!

This is SOoo cute and I love the "enlargement" through the magnifying glass. I always think ladybugs are such awesome little things to watch as they work away.
