I've been away visiting my littles so making up for some lost challenges:
TLC799 veggie stamping-actually the small panel was done a while ago for the TLC, I just finally used it. You'll never guess what I used: chives!!! Maybe herb stamping?? I used the flower at the top and the cut edge with DOx inks. Fun!!!!!!
MIX386 double embossing-I used a hanging flower stencil with bright pink paste and then sprinkled various eps on it. The pink sort of disappeared but it's there.
MMTPT622 pen pals- this is for Sabrina's friend. I applaud anyone who writes regularly. I've never had a penpal I didn't know, but I used to write to friends over the summer, especially when I was at the lake. I think the secret to easily writing letters is to write often. The more often you write, the more you have to say. My Mom would write to my brother when he moved to Michigan and he would write back. Also an army buddy of my Dad's wrote to my Mom after Dad died and he wrote lovely long letters with beautiful penmanship. My penmanship stinks. After I stamped a few images around the main panel, I connected them with some vines, doodles and dots with gel pens. Also colored in some bits and pieces. I decided to go for a whimsical, childlike look, since penpals generally start in childhood. I've tried to get my granddaughter to write to me, she loves to write in journals but she won't write when she's asked to do so.

I've got them in my "garden" it's the only plant...I use it in lot of plates, I would never have thought about stamping with them but with the flower seems to work, or maybe a bunch tied together...you can eat the flower too!!
Lovely result for your background and pretty card with the gold texture!!

How beautiful, Jean. I especially love your sparkly gold butterfly and the beautiful flowers for the MIX. The stranded stems at the top look like silk embroidery floss. Chive stamping? I tried growing chives a couple of years ago and they just didn't take at all. The amount that come in a pack to buy, I certainly wouldn't use them on stamping! You're right about the writing often being easier. DH has found that - since he first went over to Maine two summers ago, he writes to the guy he stayed with, but the longer he leaves it between letters, the harder he finds it. My penmanship stinks too - but also, with the advent of computers I find it so much easier to have a copy of what I wrote. I did used to use carbon paper when I typed letters, but that's a long time ago .

I expected zentangle from you today, Jean. But these doodles are fun! Great challenge combo! I thought your veggie stamping looked like bubble wrap stamping. Chives! Cool! Fun sentiment too!

I love your doodled frame. When I was a teenager I had a penpal in Japan. I was an elementary school teacher for 40 years so I always love these "kid" sayings. They are usually true too.

Very pretty eclectic card! Chives never occurred to me....I have basil and parsley, too...oooo the possibilities are endless. I love your doodling and the saying...I miss my book club kids from school...not sure if they'll do that in the Fall...depends on what schools look like then.

The doodles make a fun design to go with the awesome "kids logic" sentiment. They do tend to hone in on the truth of a matter . . . Love the cascade of double embossed vining flowers over your chive bg.
