I made this card for a friend in another state who I think will enjoy receiving the cheery lucky owl for St. Patrick's Day. I was inspired by a challenge blog I discovered called "Cut It Up" (http://cutitupchallenges.blogspot.co...with-envy.html) that requires you use either die-cuts or digital cutting files to create your card. This week's challenge is to include the color green. I think I maxed out on both the cutting and the green!!!
All the rectangles on the card were die-cut using Stampin' UP! (SU) dies, cardstock and papers. For a list of those I used, please refer to the supplies table below.
The cutting file is one of the sweet SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) files from DesignBundle.net "Amazing Craft Bundle" set. The file is called "Cute Lucky Owl". The entire bundle is $8 for 1,500 cutting files. The variety in the bundle is truely AMAZING! All the cut elements were glued starting from the bottom of the gold pile to the top of his jaunty little hat using Tombow liquid glue.
After I had him glued together, I used Ranger White Enamel Accents to but white glints in his eyes.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5" because of the number of colors it require and the number of pieces that were used to build the sweet little owl. I estimate it took me 3 hours to cut and assemble the entire card.
