Such a fun technique, thanks so much, Anita. I'm only just starting to get some alcohol markers, usually have been too expensive for me. I have some pastels, sets of red, purple and gray and a set of Altenew, different colors. This background used the red set.
I made the background the way Anita showed, with plastic wrap around a cutting plate. I too like the wrinkles. I wish there was a little more definition of different shades of red. First time using the set of dies, if you look closely, the largest piece has some dry embossing from the die. I tried several different sandwiches, the paper didn't seem to want to emboss very deeply. Btw, Kirkland paper was recommended a while ago for ai, but to use the back. So that's what I mostly did. I tried a background on the glossy front, that was fine too.
For the CAS, I used my gold and silver Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes.
Would you believe I have no heart dies!? Just not into Valentines any more. I hope to come back with another ai marbling background card.

The heart with the gilding flakes is just wow, wow. Beautiful. I've never tried the back of photo paper - I guess I either use the front for techniques where I know it will work (polished stone type) or splurge and use real glossy card as opposed to photo paper for something like this. I like the partial embossing I can see in the die-cut. Fun that you had some markers to try this with (it can also be done with just tiny drops of alcohol inks, too). And now I definitely want to try this with cling wrap.

The BG process on this is beautiful! I love how you added the foil to the heart! I find it really hard to use hearts for anything but Valentines, even though I do have some heart dies. Glad you were able to cut a heart for this pretty card.
