Our November TeaPotter swap is hosted by Naturecoastcrafter (Jean). Jean challenged us with using feathers on our cards. A very interesting and beautiful topic. I must admit it took quite awhile for inspiration to strike! And I went down some dead end streets, but I have arrived.
I first began with a brusho bg. The feather (Too Much Fun) was stamped on a corner of the bg. I embossed it with Rangers Mixed Media 'Hammered' and fussy cut. I placed it in an Invoke Arts image of a hand with a feather quill. I cut that feather away and placed the big, bold feather into the hand. I bleached the hand, added the Vintage German Scrap in bronze for a tiny bracelet, and painted the
fingernails.
With the remainder of the Brusho background, I picked a favorite star stencil and used Lumaire 'Silks' acrylic glaze in two shades of Gold.
The da Vinci quote is mighty fine:
Feathers shall raise men towards heaven
even as they do birds; that is, by letters
written with their quills
I had cut the Brusho panel on the diagonal in order to save it for using as my main background. The Stampscapes 'Milky Way' was stamped about 5 times onto my gray base. It is faint, but perfect for an imagining of heaven. I closed the card with a tiny bit of Vintage seam binding.
I am excited to slip this in the mail tomorrow for our swap. I am happy to discover that art sometimes can not be rushed. This was one of those times.
Off to peruse the gallery. Thanks for your comments.

That is a fantastic quote and super image. Mind you, I'm not sure that I'd actually like to try writing with a quill pen. I can just about remember those scratchy nibs and dip pens in school, I thought my first cartridge pen was a huge advance.
Love how you added the bracelet, and used the same Brusho piece for the starry sky.
I owe you a thank you note after work :-).

This is breathtaking in every way. I have been looking at this for the longest time taking it all in. The bracket is the icing on the cake! You are going to thrill a lucky Teapotter for sure Susan
I use my quill pen almost every day, sooooo much better than the "craft" fountain pens that every second arty designer sells these days.
