Barbara picked some beautiful colors this week! They just begged to be a floral image. To color the flowers I used markers on an acrylic block and a blender pen to "water color" the image. i like doing this for small areas since I find I have more control than using the reinker and a brush.
For the background I did something I normally don't do and that is use a "wash" stamp instead of creating a background wash myself. But since I knew that it would be mostly covered by the rectangle I decided to stamp. To get a little more variation in the color, I first tapped the stamp on my peach pad and then used a sponge dauber with the coral to go around the edges.
The sentiment I used is one of my very favorites for a thinking of you card.

I love every single detail. The thin strip of washi tape, the twine, the stitched rectangle, the wash background, the beautiful coloring of the flowers, the font and sentiment. It all comes together into a cohesive whole and beautiful collage!

How very beautiful, Jeanne! I love the shading you achieved, both on your flowers and the stamped background (which looks as though it was painted!). Great sentiment, too! That little touch of black and white along the edge is perfect!
