April is Autism Awareness month. This is a cause dear to me because it affects so many people, our family included! There is a large blog hop happening and one of the stories shared on the hop matches our story closely. If you care to check out my blog post I have a link to the hop, look for Katherine Cosimano. She puts it all so eloquently!!! You will also find a link to The Project Bin. Denise created this special stamp set in honor of her son, Spencer. She shares part of his story today on the blog so I hope you will check that out too!!!
I try to celebrate our weekly Featured Stamper by playing along as often as I can. This week's FS582 is Jayne (Ozpom). Congratulations Jayne! I had fun browsing your gallery!!! I found her Blue Heart card to inspire me!
I wasn't happy with my first card attempt so I took the die from the In My Heart stamp set and die cut the heart out of the original card. Then inspiration hit! I had viewed Linda's amazing Margaret card and fallen in love with everything about it, including the frame. Thank you, Linda, for the inspiration! I used Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink and sponged the frame then wet it with water. I took a cloth and wiped off the water which left a really cool weathered look to the frame. I added dots and lines as Linda did on hers, then added more ink on the corners.

Angie this is so cool...I love your faded jeans look on the frame and the heart. Thanks for sharing Spencer’s story and also your personal connection. I attended my g-nephew’s play a few weeks ago and was so proud of how he and his whole school did...they were awesome!

This is so neat - a beautiful CAS card with just the simple framing around your puzzle piece heart and fun sentiment. Your technique on the frame really added some depth!
