I wasn't going to upload this card or at least not to my SCS gallery because it doesn't really fit any of the current challenges or at least I don't think it does.
I saw this technique over on Jennifer McGuire's blog a couple of days ago and really wanted to play, haven't had my alcohol inks out for a while and I do like using them.
I think I have mentioned in past posts that I have a wonderful patient and loving husband so the very least I can do is make him a valentine card .... he is taking me to Egypt, Israel, and Jordan in three weeks so it's only fair lol.
It's not difficult and not even that messy, the ink drys very quickly, and one of the brilliant things is you can get several backgrounds out of your ink mixes so have at least four or five pieces of gloss paper ready at hand.
The card it self is also quite simple. I cut out the heart from the gloss paper after doing the technique and then again out of the Crumb Cake card stock then slotted the heart into the negative space attaching it with some sticky tape to hold it. I mounted all of this onto some craft foam and then generated the greeting on the computer and printed it off. I fussy cut this and mounted it onto some craft foam as well first working out where to put the musical notes and using my stamp positioner stamped them a couple of time, then attached the greeting.
The inside is finished by matting a piece of crumb cake onto the base and then a strip of the gloss alcohol background and then some white to write on...and that as they say is all folks.
Hope you get inspiration from this card.
Cheers
Marg

Marg, I love your beautiful alcohol ink background for your heart!! I am sure your hubby will love it as well :-) This would fit the S2S18D (Stamp to Spend Challenge) to create a non-red Valentine :-) Hugs and I hope you have a wonderful trip together!!
