This card is for the Fan Club Christmas Challenge found in the Fan Club section of the forums.
The little penguins are bathed in a halo of light.
It is also for last weeks sketch challenge, a little late but I had this idea and just had to try it.
I first stamped the lamp then masked it and created the halo of light by applying the SU colours lightest first to darkest and I did this with shaving brushes.
The blue background was the second thing to be done and this is the smack and squirt technique, I repeated this twice to get the coverage I wanted then smacked some Oxide Salty Ocean down squirted it and plonked the card on top a-maz-ing... I just love the results you get with this technique. I splattered this with silver acrylic paint then went to bed (going to bed is optional)
Today I coloured the little penguins aren't they the cutest little guys, just love them.
I had forgotten the colours I used for my Christmas Cat card and so went searching in my Pinterest boards for colour recipes, found a post from Kathy Jones aka Wattle over on Copic Oz that is very detailed and explains how to colour with the copic, brilliant. Found here; http://copicoz.blogspot.com.au/2010/...otanicals.html
I finished off by mounting them on some craft foam adding some rhinestones and then some Snow texture and glitter while it was still wet. Let it all dry, about three hours and then put it all together and there you have it.
Hope it has inspired you.
Cheers
Marg

Oh, Marg, this is absolutely darling! Your penguins are so beautifully colored, and I love how you've popped them. And the beautiful halo of light from the lamp just washes over them. Beautifully done!! You are really making headway with your Christmas cards. I need to make more myself!! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo
