So, a very long time ago a lady I know mailed me some really cool iris tubers all the way from Kansas that kind of have this color going on with them, purple, pink & yellow. ( very different) (that same lady lost her husband Saturday so) I do not actually have any stamps of double ruffle beard-ed iris but, I think the colors are close enough. (I am intending to use this as a Sympathy card... are the colors too pretty?) this is a big wood mounted stamp and I wanted it to have a little of that no line effect but, I needed the lines for definition so, I stamped it with the oxide inks and colored over that with polychromos pencils. The background was done smooshing, patting, dragging, layering all 4 of those oxide inks listed on a craft mat. It's not real "clean" but, it is flat. Thanks for this challenge Kia, & tfl.

I don't think colors can be too pretty for a sympathy card! We need bright to cheer us up! I think this is beautiful and will cheer your friend! I looked on Amazon again today at those inks! I keep hoping they will come to the local store so I can use a coupon!!! Stunning background. My favorite background technique!!

Gorgeous background. The image is so beautiful. Fabulous colors. Love it all. Sympathy cards are challenging. For the colors, it might depend on who would be receiving it, but this card would definitely be beautiful to receive. The sentiment is spot on for a sympathy card. TFS

Your background is beautiful and perfect for a sympathy card. Love the flowers too. You've colored them wonderfully and they go so well with the background colors.

A beautiful and meaningful sympathy card for this sweet lady who gifted you with some iris tubers. The back panel is so beautifully done with the colors that you used in coloring your iris image.

Gorgeous background, gorgeous Iris's! Not "too pretty" at all! This shows great thought and meaning for the kind woman that shared her garden with you. Beautifully done!

Just stunning, Stacy. On the rare occasion that my dog doesn't dig up the bulbs, we actually get iris in this exact color. The bg is gorgeous. I try to send sympathy cards in pretty colors. Everything is sod and grey when we loose a loved one, I think a bright card is a good idea. Faved
