For 2 challenges:
MIX212=Petals to the Metals
F4A365=Pick a combo of colors include greenery color- Pantone 2017
I reused the cardboard from my new embossing folder by first cutting to size then covering with aluminum foil. I taped the foil to the backside vs glueing.
I ran it through the ef and painted with a variety of acrylic paints. Blue stain on the butterfly, & gold metallic acrylic paint on the poppy.
The 'before' picture shows the 'painting'.
Once the paint was dried, I used 2 different grits of steel wool in a swiping motion.
I then used a piece of industrial sandpaper (very rough) and covered it over my thumb for swirl patterns. Things were going well on the sky portion, then I did a swirl on the greenery... lower left corner and ripped the foil :(
Not discouraged, I wrapped copper thread around 2 fingers and tied it in the middle for a flower petal design. I punch a small hole in the cardboard, pulled the tail threads through and taped it to the back of card. To cover the hole, I glued a gold jewel.
I triple matted it, and I believe have 6 Pantone colors between the paints and matting to include greenery, kale, flame, lapis blue, niagara, island paradise.
I call this messy painting with an impressionist vibe.
I added a couple of pictures to see how the colors change in the light.
Rather than using this as a card, I hope to frame this and showcase it in my decor.
Thanks Janelle (dizzymommie) and dawnmercedes for fantastic challenges!!
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend. We're expecting warm spring weather for a few days.

Well, you've certainly been busy today making these pretty scenes for the metal challenge. How wonderful to make something YOU can use instead of sending away in the mail.

What a great idea. Love the way you used the foil especially with the paint. You have motivated me to try something more daring and artistic. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
