The optional theme for this week was "sweet thoughts", so of course my mind went right away to cupcakes! I had a set of photopolymer stamps in my stash that I'd never used. I don't even know what company makes them! But the seemed to fit perfect for the theme.
Here are the paper sizes:
Card base (Melon Mambo) - 8.5"x5.5" folded in half
Front panel ( Calypso Coral) - 4"x5.25"
Horizontal fancy paper - 2"x5"
Matting (Sky Blue) - 2.25x 5"
Each panel was glued using Tombow Multi Glue.
The cupcake was stamped with Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo, then hand colored using Copics Hollyhock (RV55) and Cotton Candy (RV52). It was cut out by hand, then attached to a piece of Melon Mambo and cut out again using a thin matting edge all around. This empahsized the cupcake as the main feature and helped make it stand out from the fancy paper and Calypso Coral below it. The matted cupcake was attached using Adhesive Foam Strips to raise it up off the plane of the card to give it depth.
The greeting was from the same stamp set as the cupcake (unknown brand). It was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink.
This card is very easy to make. The hardest part was fussy cutting the cupcake and it's matting.
