Hello TeaPotters around the world! I send out a beacon of light, Yaquina Head Light to be exact. And one from a classic Lighthouse set. Made in Paris in 1868 and shipped to Oregon, it was first lit in 1873.
We are blessed to have 11 working lighthouses along our gorgeous, rocky, cold water coast. Come visit!
My Yaquina was stamped on acetate with Stazon and then the body of white applied behind. It is the tallest lighthouse on the OR coast at 93 ft.
I slipped a ticket under the right corner. A ticket to elsewhere. Again come visit!
The background is a fabulous ef from Carta Bella I embossed on watercolor paper using two of the colors from Pam's Color Challenge, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi. The third color, Wisteria Wonder is found as the base and the heart covering the state of Oregon.
Thank you Sabrina for issuing a heartfelt hope filled challenge to all teapotters today. And Pam, your color challenge breathes the hope of Spring into my gray day.
Sending xxxxx's and lots of ooooo's ....

Beautiful card with the embossed map bg...and your own "touch of home" with a familiar lighthouse of your state, Sue. Your cards always have a story to tell.

First of all, your card is GORGEOUS....I love lighthouses so it drew me right in, but then that bkgd dazzled me...wowza
your description made me wonder how many lighthouses are active in CT. According to one source there are 26, though some are maintained and powered by private parties......another site said there were 22.......I was shocked at how many.....I've been or gazed at several, but the overall number surprised me....thx for providing a reason for me to learn more about my state today

This is gorgeous Susan!! I love the way you created the land mass and the earth. Your light house is great!! I like the ticket underneath. So, how many sunny days have you had this month? We have only had about one. I'm looking somewhere for some sunshine.

Wish we could come and visit! I like your idea of laying solid behind the acetate - and you always use acetate so well on your cards. The embossed background makes a fab setting for your lighthouse, as well as letting your mark your spot in OR and show where the lighthouse is located.

WE have a special affinity to lighthouses here on the East Coast. My parents were photographers in retirement, and took wonderful photos and slides of so many beauties. Your card took me there in memory, as they are now both gone. I love your card......fabulous additions of the ef and ticket. Hugs, mf!
