This is one of those cards that spontaneously erupted on my kitchen table. I was just going to experiment with sponging distress inks through a stencil...I didn't even choose a stencil. I often use the "lazy Francie technique of design" which means that I use whatever is left out on the kitchen table. After sponging inks through the stencil at an angle, I decided to cut it up with nesting rectangles. It was very uninspired and was headed toward the trash can when I decided to try one last attempt to resuscitate it. I attached the rectangles to a black card base and turned the middle rectangle upside down. When you have a busy bg, the only thing you can do is add black silhouette flowers. This only took 10 minutes, and it really is very simple...it is just a stenciled bg with die cut flowers. There needs to be a sub category under CAS cards for severely CAS challenged people like me. We could call it " CAS for the everything but the kitchen sink crowd". TEL, Francie

Black silhouette flowers always look good, but they look fabulous on this beautiful background. I love the way you have nested the layers to keep it flat. And always I love what you do with Liquid Pearls.
Wilted violet - hmm, I think that I need to add that to my list. I don't yet have any of the newer colours, but that one looks gorgeous and a better rainbow violet than the old dusty concord.

I'm so glad you gave this gorgeous background a second chance - this is fantastic! I'm like Sabrina, the wilted violet is a gorgeous shade and will definitely go on my wish list. I love the way you use color!

What a clever idea, Francie - to flip the rectangles!! And your black die cuts are perfect! This was a challenge with your name written all over it with your love of color!!
