So what do you do when you want to thank someone for their help but you are nowhere near your arts/crafts supplies??? You buy a pack of black and white cardstock on sale, and with the lead pencils your Mom brought you and a black marker you get to work! A sweet lady at the governments office has helped my hubby and I since we were evacuated, I mentioned at our last visit that I would like to bring her a plant for her cubicle and she said they were not allowed to receive gifts. I said we wanted to say thank you and she shyly replied that cards were permitted. Today when I showed up with this card she seemed shocked that I made it for her and thanked me over and over. I laughed and explained that I don't have my supplies so this was the best I could do with what I have and she said she needed to hug me lol! She seemed happy with it so I am ;O)
It's not fancy I simply sketched the sentiment, bird and tree branch then outlined it with the marker. I drew the 3 flowers with the lead pencils and cut them out and bent them upward. I used double sided tape for everything.

Evacuated, that sounds a little alarming! What a lovely write-up, and what a sweet card. It may seem simple to you (I wouldn't even TRY drawing on a card), but it obviously meant a whole lot to her. Your little bird is just darling.

Oh my, I hope all is well for you since the evacuation!! You shared a story of love; the love shown to each other in times of need!! The card you drew is OUTSTANDING, and I venture to guess it made it even more special to the recipient! Hugs!

What an incredible card to create for your friend that needed to give you the hug. You drew this so beautifully and I am sure she felt so blessed to have you give this to her.

I had to go and check where you live.. now I understand why you were evacuated. I hope your home and property didn't suffer too much damage in the fires...though maybe that is an unrealistic hope.

Oh, Patricia, I am just seeing this and love it! Your drawing is amazing, and it's even more so given the limited supplies! What a loving thing to do for the sweet lady at the government office who was so helpful to you and Jamie! What a joy to get a hug back from her, and I know she will cherish this card. It's not often enough that people express appreciation. Continuing to pray for you both and trust that eventually you will get resettled and be reunited with your craft supplies and artwork! Hugs, sweet friend!
