I printed this out on regular high quality printer paper, thinking that it would be fine to practice my coloring/shading. In the end, I liked it well enough to use it on a card for my stash.
Instead of doing things the easy way and die cutting the image and matting it on a larger die cut, that is actually a very skinny frame around the image. Lots of patience trying to get it lined up just right, but it really makes a difference in the visual effect. It was backed with craft foam before being attached to the card front.
As always, thanks for looking!

This is really pretty. Love your watercolor washed background with these gorgeous purple blooms. Oh, I applaud you for your patience in attaching that skinny frame- it looks great! ~Karen.

Oh, Jody, I love these tulips, and your colors are beautiful! I've actually done that a lot when I first want to decide what colors to use. And (like you), I've often thought, "I could use this!" So I totally understand how this ended up being the card! I love it and love the soft "wash" around the image. And what a beautiful frame with the black! Stunning, sweet friend! Hugs!

Jody, even your "practice" pieces are beautiful!! The coloring is superb and I love how you mounted it on craft foam to add more dimension to your lovely card. Coloring on printer paper is hard since it absorbs the inks, dyes, watercolor so differently than a heavier wt. paper. I greatly admire your talent!
