Today the outstanding artist, Kittie (kittie747) chose another remarkable artist to be the Featured Stamper for this week. That artist is the one and only Vickie Yeakley (Vickie Y.) CONGRATS, Vickie!!!
I chose one of Vickie's card that is actually in my Favorites List today, "Lace Border vky". I love the design of her card, and decided I would honor Vickie by creating a similar card. This is her card: WT592 Lace Border vky by Vickie Y at Splitcoaststampers
Things that I changed from Vickie's original:
1. Color Choices (her colors are a shade of lavender and green)
2. Stamped Images (except for the sentiment, she has no stamped images)
3. Sentiment (her sentiment is, "Just Saying Hello")
4. Position of the border cuts (her borders run from corner to corner)
5. Die Cut Outs (she has a butterfly and flower)
For my card, I used the stamps from the Lovely Notes Collection (Catherine Pooler) to randomly stamp flowers and foliage onto the solar white card stock. I used one of the Spellbinders dies to create borders and popped up the two pieces with foam tape onto a Tempting Turquoise Pierced Rectangle. I also created three flowers (on the left side), die cut them, and adhered them to the card front with foam tape. This was attached to the Daffodil Delight card base.
I felt the sentiment, Celebrate, is quite appropriate as we are celebrating one of SCS favorite artist!
Again, congratulations, Vickie, and I hope my card does yours justice!
Bev

Outstanding! I knew which card from Vickie's gallery you had selected as I almost picked it myself. Love what you did from your inspiration. It's very bright and cheery. Lovely colors. Love the wavy edges for the opening and I like how it's across the card at a angle. Celebrate is a great word and could be used for many different reasons. As you said, we celebrate Vickie's gallery this week! Very nicely done. TFS

Bev, your card is beautiful! Love the stamped images and the position of the cutout border. Your card has inspired me! I also have the new Lovely Notes Collection from CP and have only stared at the stamps and dies still in the box! (and, thank you for your lovely comments!)

Happy and cheery card with all the brightly colored flowers. The split in your design echoes Vickie's diagonal so well. Wonderful tribute to Vickie to with your words.

Oh Bev, sweet friend, this is just delightful. Love that fun and vibrant paper. Using a die to separate it was sheer genius. Love the stitched die. Dang, I love the whole darn card. Beautiful. Hope you are doing much better. When I see your cards, I'm fairly convinced things are getting better day by day. Yahoo for Bev and us, too. we get to see your phenomenal creations. Hugs xx
