This is my sample for CC591. I am your hostess this week and I chose night of navy, flirty flamingo and mint macaron for my color trio. Dessert is to use a die cut.
For my card I created an under the sea scene with lots of die cuts. Used the under the sea dies from CottageCutz.
My background “water” is mint macaron dsp from the Stampin’-Up “perfectly artistic” collection. I liked the shading and thought it had a water like feel to it. I layered it on mint macaron and then my card base is night of navy cardstock.
From there I cut my dies and placed them in the scene. For the sea weed, I used mint macaron cardstock and to get different shades of green I sponged with mint macaron ink.
The rocks are cut in kraft and baked brown sugar cardstock. I sponged the kraft with crumb cake ink for dimension.
The fish are also dies from CottageCutz. I used Happy Fish 2 and the Clown Fish dies. I cut them from a mixed media paper and with an aqua brush and night of navy reinker and flirty flamingo ink pad colored them. I wanted a deeper shade of flirty flamingo since I also cut the coral from that cardstock. I used a flirty flamingo enamel dot for the clown fish eye.
The water bubbles are cut from acetate. I used a hinged technique to get my night of navy card base to 4 3/4" x 5 3/4".
ThatÂ’s my sample for this week. Hope you can play along. Check out the other DT cards for more inspiration.

What an adorable "under the sea" scene you've created with this week's lovely colors, Mary! The acetate bubbles are fun, and I love the sentiment, too! Cute, cute fishies!

Mary, this is adorable! I love that bg pp - how perfect for your scene, and you did a great job getting different depths of shading in your sponging for added interest! And, you found a way to fit your scene on the card - woo hoo!

Sweetness personified, Mary. Love your little fish and their bubbles. What a really great card you brought to us tonight. You have an incredible vision on how to use your dies.
