I am taking part in Kathy Racoosin's "The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge this month. It's a wonderful way to get yourself in the groove and color (any amount of time, any medium).
One of the video's in this weeks Blog Hop was from the very talented and skilled artist and owner of Wplus9, Dawn Woleslagle. Dawn shared some inspiration from Cath Kidston (the lovely vintage designs). Cath's designs look like the two/three step stamp sets that are so trendy now. Dawn stepped it up a notch and showed how she hand sketched cabbage roses with Copics. I was so inspired and just had to give it a try.
It always looks so easy doesn't it (she laughs). So did punch around the page - don't ask (laughing again). Well I was determined to figure it out, and finally after two days of trial and error I got as close as I was going to get - phew! Slap that baby on a card and move on was my thought! I hand trimmed my little bouquet and popped it up on the lovely die cuts (mat and card base) provided in the Make it Market Kit, Don't Forget to Write. I think several of these in different colors would make beautiful hostess gifts. What do you think?
Sincerely,
Susie ~

This is absolutely gorgeous. I never think to use silver EP, but it's so striking on your card. Beautiful design, flowers, just everything is beautiful.

WOW! You are not only a master of coloring but also design and drawing! Freehand anything is not going to happen here. I did get a giggle out of your description, Susie. SO true! The videos do look easy but of course they are done by skilled hands! I've never done the punch around the paper either. It appeared to need some calculating and even me, a math major didn't want to do that! Your two day endeavor was SO worth it with this gorgeous card. Love those layers!
Wow, Susie! I saw this on FB but didn't realize you hand drew the flowers!!! They look fabulous! The card is pure elegance. Ha! Punch around the page by Martha Stewart? That's what started me stamping!!!! I saw one in Michaels and bought it ..... the next thing I knew I was looking up youtube videos on card making thanks to my hubby! The rest, as they say, is history!

Gorgeous card! I love you sharing your adventures in using punch around the page punches. Ugh! I have been there too, but looking at this card I would never know in a million years you struggled at all with it. Those hand drawn roses are amazing. I am going to look this video up and see how to do it. Mind you, I probably won't do it like you did here, but I can enjoy the video. Congratulations on being selected a favorites- you so deserve it! I am adding this card to my favorites. ~Karen.
