Now that Sweet Dolly the insomniac dog has passed over the rainbow, I will have to take full blame for waking up at 2am. I know that others with active minds are up in the middle of the night crafting, so we need to start a "freaky vampire VSN"....after we all go on our Skype things (I have no idea how to spell that) and after we stop laughing at the difference between our avitars and this live vision of us, we could have a great time. I realized awhile ago that "real watercoliring" and I were never going to be BFFs, so I go for faux versions whenever a challenge calls for watercoliring. I smoothed some distress inks on a ghetto rigged version of a craft matt...that is my sons' term for using what you have instead of spending money on the real thing. In this case it is wax paper. I added water and used a paint brush to make the bg for the flowers. I used water based markers and stamped the flowers several times, and then used the water brush to blend them. Then I stamped a few flowers and did not add water. It was sort of a blurry, mushy mess at this point, so I added the stamped black flowers. However, forget about the rest of the card...I ACTUALLY MADE A DESCENT BOW!!! I think Dolly's spirit was there sending a little karma my way. TFL, Francie

Francie, I think your bows are always fabulous when you make them!! And I am amazed at anyone who can be awake enough to craft in the small hours of the night. I struggle enough even at respectable morning hours when DH has left for work and I have an hour - even then I can't usually manage to make it up to the attic.
I really like the flower panel, but it's the background that appeals to me even more, I'd pay good money for DP like that ;-).

I agree with Sabrina - I always think your bows look great! Terrific card, the background is fabulous. Walmart bags are a great substitute for a craft mat, too, BTW

You did wonderful, Francie! For me, the secret to w/c is to not try. Just let it do its thing. And me and bows have a long history of not getting along. A friend felt so bad for me she sent me a Bow Easy..it is NOT. Finally I bought a contraption called a mini Bowdabra & I was able to operate that.
I am also a night owl & I would craft if I could, but someone else around here wants to do stuff like sleep..I don't get it.

Wow, LOVE this, Francie and SO agree about watercoloring! I try, nothing happens but this technique worked beautifully on this card. Love the design and the bow- better than anything I can do over 1/4"! Got a real kick out of your description too!

Sweet ms. dolly is still on your mind. I get that. It was just last week that I realized I've finally gotten over our precious golden who died 6/1/13. It's taken me 3 years. The others have taken me 2-2.5 years. Their loss leaves such a horrible void in our lives. I really believe only genuine dog lovers understand that. Yes, I believe sweet Ms. Dolly was right beside you (I'm starting to cry).
I love your narratives, Francie. You're too humorous and straight to the point. I would never have guessed you and watercoloring don't go hand and hand. What you ended up with is a wonderfully unique, colorful and creative card, my friend. I love it.
