This card is "so not me"...actually, I have had a stomach virus all weekend so that must have messed with my brain. The SCS tutorial 2 weeks ago mentioned that elegant writer markers "bleed" easily, so I was experimenting. Over my crafting life time I have had several failed attempts at techniques I thought were easier than they were. The elegant writer marker was from the "teach myself caligraphy fiasco". All the supplies from things that did not work out are banished to the penalty box at the back of the coat closet. Sure enough, the marker was lurking there. I was just doodling 2 flowers to see if I could blend the edges when this card emerged. It is going in my stash for any time I need a calmer card. TFL, Francie

You never fail to amaze me, Francie! IF this is what you call a fail, I need MORE of these! Calligraphy is not easy and nothing will make it easy. Love the monochromatic color scheme on this. Awesome background work!

This looks beautiful, Francie. The colour palette messages me think of a snowy winter day...all that white paint spattered over the stormy greys and purples is just so lovely. I find it very peaceful to look at.

Love, love how this turned out for you.....the ink in those markers are fun to work with when they bleed from the water. You showcased the image so well with all the other elements on the card. I had to smile about your penalty box of items. We all do it. TFS

Francie, I hope you're feeling better and can enjoy what's left of the holiday.
This is definitely a departure from your norm, but every bit as fascinating! I love how you framed your drawing, and the background is fabulous. Awesome card!

Wow, definitely not your usual style, Francie, but a lovely card nonetheless!! I love all the design elements, and the muted color. Good thing you rescued that marker from the penalty box!!!

Silly girl, you and I are so much alike. I watch all those same videos time and time again, but I'm still never able to recreate what I watched others do. I guess we're quantum physicists and don't know it just yet.
I go out and bought those pens too. Not one, but one set and two black. I generally use Joann's for my art stuff, but since it takes them forever to mail something, I always forget what I ordered and then jump over to ebay and buy the same thing. Hello.
I've tried to use that elegant writer to no avail. What I end up with belongs in the garbage dump to be sure. Let's just keep trying and maybe one day....
I love this card, Francie. It's so not you (or so you say) but yet it is so you: It's creative, unique and just plain outstanding. I love what you create. You're your own woman and that's shows in each of your wonderful creations.
