I bought a few cheap bird cages at a flea market last week and I wanted to do something fun with them.
This week's FA and MIX challenges gave me a great idea.
The bird cage was black so I put on a layer of chalk paint. I took some foliage out of a couple of flower arrangements around the house and used some hot glue to ground a vintage advertising card, a little clock image and the foliage inside the cage. I printed out this saying:
Two of the most powerful warriors - patience and time.
I cut out the words, sponged them with some distress ink and glued them on the cage. I covered them with gesso for protection.
The cage works as a frame for my vintage adverstising card (bought at a garage sale) and my little clock inside.
It looks much better IRL.

Nancy, you are so creative. I love your birdcage and the little clock and other wonderful items inside. You've done such a great job with both challenges.

Well aren't you the clever one today, Ms. Nancy! This is so you with your chalk painted bird cage and clock tucked inside. Very vintage-y and lovely way to display something new yet old in your home.
