I did this card for my friend Faith who has lost her wonderful Mom, who was also a crafter. That is the reason for the crystals (real), Mrs. Lumley would love that. She was so kind and patient while she taught me cross-stitching. I have very fond memories of her.
I also CASEd Maura's (beesmom) card found at IC536 Egg-inspired! by beesmom at Splitcoaststampers
I just loved that card ... so I kept the theme going with the smooshing (thank you Loll) and the embossing, but a bit different to make it my own. Thank you Maura ... and while attempting to stamp my sentiment you can imagine my dismay ... not straight! That was the finish for me. I ordered a MISTI in the middle of making this card - albeit the smaller version, but I don't do many large items at all. I received some money for Easter - spent it and Easter is not here yet! Thank you Lesley, again.
Thanks for having a look. (I have this card on my blog, but none of the blurb stuff, I just wanted it to be for Mrs. Lumley)

Oh, Kia, your story really touched my heart. I am so sorry for the loss of such an important person in your life. Based upon your description of her, I think that if she could see this fabulous card you made, she would be delighted. Beautiful card, Kia!

Kia, this is just gorgeous!! I love how the embossing added so much to the visual interest - I am so glad to have inspired you, and thanks for sending me a PM to let me know!

What a beautiful card for your friend, Kia. Love the techniques you've used and so glad, on another note, that you ordered a misti. stamping will never be the same again.
