I made this very bright card to cheer up Carolyn who is battling health problems. We were supposed to add butterflies, but by the time I got all the flowers stamped, there was no where to put a butterfly....it is resting under all those flowers. He must be a very shy butterfly. I tried to get as close as possible to this week's CC569 colors, but a little unauthorized orangish yellow snuck onto my card. For the MIX159 I did include a version of my birth month flower...my birthday is in June and roses are the flower. After my rant about not liking pink with my sample card for today's F4A challenge, I am going to sound like a real "PIA" (that might not be in the list of official abbreviations on the SCS page, so here are the first few words.... "pain in the A#@$%"). Anyway, real roses have never been my favorite flower. Right above the green bow is a type of rose that is acceptible. It is a wild rose. Now that Southern California neighborhoods like mine have ripped out every inch of grass and replaced it with wood chips and drought tolerant plants, there are a lot of wild roses in the common areas of my neighborhood. I think they only need sunshine, air, and positive vibes to grow. The card was made by dropping Adirondack ink on glossy CS and blowing through a straw to spread it around. Then I applied rubbing alcohol with a q-tip to get some patterns. The blue bg was added with copics. After stamping the flowers with Stazon ink, I added dots for shading with a black gel pen. I also drew in the stems and leaves. TFL, Francie

If this doesn't provide a spot of cheer for the recipient nothing will! I love your vibrant colours outlined in black! A gorgeous jumble of flowers and leaves augmented with a bow. I have to agree with you about roses; the wild ones often have the loveliest fragrance and are so hardy. Beautiful card!

This is so colorful. I love the smell of the wild roses. At least the wild roses that grew behind my house in AZ when I was little. They smelled better than any "cultivated" rose. I think the butterfly had so many choices of flowers to sit on, that he couldn't make up his mind so he had to fly around for a little bit more and that is why we don't see him sitting in your garden. Thanks for playing along with my challenge.

Wow! Popping with beautiful colors. Too bad about those Cali neighborhoods. Wish you could get RAIN and lots of it. Good job drawing the leaves. Awesome card.

Those vivid colours are just gorgeous! I think I said before that I got a hard s set inspired by you...now I just need to use it more. And again, I love the look you are getting with your inks. I love wild rose...we have one behind our back wall, but most of all they remind me of childhood holidays.

First I have to laugh you just crack me up! Second what an amazing floral card! I am sure if I squint just right and hold my head in the right place I think I can see a tiny bit of that butterfly peeking out from under those flowers. Giggles!!! Thank you for the fun story and great card you shared with us.

For a long time, I've always thought God, nature and color are the essence of life's finest gifts. Your art work is incredible and your colors speak to the soul. Your uninhibited approach to color and design is magnificent, Francie.
