I have wanted to get down to my stamp room all week and have been eyeing the challenges, but just could not manage to make it to the stamping table. So today, we were having a rather heavy snow storm and I decided to not run my errands and just stay home. I decided to do a catch up card for this week's challenges. So here is my Valentine for my DH. I started with some foil tape that he eyes jealously for his workshop, but I keep it in mine! This was for Thursday's Ways to use it challenge. I taped a piece to some cardstock and ran it though one of my embossing folders. Then I applied black acrylic paint. I wiped off the excess. When it was dry, I sponged on some Azure Stazon ink. I should probably have done that in the opposite order as it wanted to lift more of the paint than I wanted. When I trimmed that down I had extra skinny pieces of this that I used to cover a die cut heart. I stamped my background words onto a square of Soft Sky CS using Soft Sky ink for a subtle tone on tone look. I sponged soft sky and bit of Basic Gray ink on the edges. I added a small banner from the Banner Blast set.

Fantastic masculine card with the use of the foil tape! I love the color you have added to the tape, tying it in with your dp and card base!
Better to stay home and play, then to go out in the snow!

How cool is this! What a wonderful heart for a guy. You better keep an eye on that foil tape or it will be gone before you know it (to the workshop).

Awesome card! Glad you got a chance to get to your craft table. Maybe you could just put one little piece of your tape inside the card and tell him not to use it all in one place! Tee hee. You story made me chuckle. Love your card!
