I saw this lovely vase on our inspiration site (IC530), and loved the look of the flowers against the yellow bg: http://www.comuseum.com/wp-content/u...ihuawenwan.jpg
Decided to go with butterflies and sponging, and a bit of added orange and red. On the card front I sponged 4 different distress inks (anticipating where the butterflies would go to make those sections darker), then splattered with diluted inks of the same distress colors as well as diluted white acrylic paint. Sprayed with shimmer mist , so it has a lovely sparkle and then overlayed the cover plate die. Added sequins, and sentiment strips. Love this new cover plate die from PTI.

This is gorgeous! The white butterflies over those lovely warm colours are a beautiful take on your inspiration. I bet the shimmer mist gives it the look of porcelain as well. Great card!

Maura, your butterflies are so pretty with your lovely sponging for the background. Love the colors you selected to use.

Gorgeous card Maura! I love the bright yellow as the bg for your butterflies. I bet the sparkle is lovely on this. Terrific design from your inspiration piece. Are you enjoying the warm weather? I just got back from a walk along the river...nice but then it started to rain ;)

I look at this Maura and I immediately thought "wow, powerful" The burst of colour behind the butterflies with the warmer yellow surrounding is beautiful. Butterflies always appear so delicate, yet when they travel we know how powerful they truly are. A stunner - tfs
