STEP 1: Make yourself a template using acetate, or vellum, for your envelope - make it exact doing the scoring and everything (you can also buy envelope templates from Paper Source - or just take apart an old envelope as a guide). Slice openings on the score lines so that you can draw a line in the slice. (This is so you can mark your score lines.) Hold onto this template so you never have to do step 1 again, well at least until you need a different size envy.
STEP 2: Next pull out your neglected DSP, patterned papers, old calendar images, newspapers, etc.....place the clear template over the paper to help you select what the center of the envelope will look like....once you find something you love, trace the clear template onto the paper.
STEP 3: Cut it out, score, fold, adhere, and VOILA! instant mail art - and no extra postage needed!
SIDE POINT: Did you notice the Harry Potter postage stamp and the little vampire peeking around from the back in the photo? too cute - and would work any time of the year for kids!
Hope you join us and make at least 1 envy - honestly once you get started it's like discovering a whole new artwork! I can't wait to take my time and write out the addresses in my own funky modern calligraphy too!
If nothing else, check out the Gallery for IC528 - it is PHENOMENAL. So many inspiration genius' that I haven't finished pinning yet!
Hugs,
Audrie
