This is a late upload for MariLynn's MIX151 Tie-Dye Tissue challenge. Like batik (in the recent VSN), tie-dye is something we used to do as kids. When I look back and think of those basins of dye, my mother was very brave!! But there never were any accidents. So I know this tie-dye tissue doesn't look quite right. I'll try again with a small piece of tissue and maybe tie it with twine rather than elastic bands. But I did make it following MariLynn's photo guide, so here it is.
I ironed the creases out and used spray-mount to add it to a book page. Trimmed it to size, and stamped Swallowtail. I used a homemade circle stencil with clear acrylic paste and added glitter, and at the bottom corner I over-enthusiastically used black paint and a mesh stencil. I edged the whole piece with black paint, sprinkling glitter only over the top part of the edges.
The butterflies were stamped on the spare bits of tissue and punched. The one I have tucked under "soar" is just tissue with no book page to back it. Sentiment strips are popped up on foam dots.

Wowzers Sabrina. This is fabulous. Love how your tie dyed background looks with those butterflies. My favorite part is the book page showing through the tissue. Thanks for playing along with my challenge.
