I've been going through the organized clutter in an inaccessible corner of my stamp room and found some small scraps of cork paper I had bought about twenty or so years ago. I had never seen anything like that before. It's very thin, holey (non-spiritual)cork adhered to a gold metallic backing. I'd have bought a lot more if I knew it would last this long. I had only bought 2 sheets and I assume these few scraps are the last of it. Sob. Anyway, I thought this scrap would make a nice background for the delicate Memory Box Poppy die, another of my favorites. Of course, I had to add more gold to frame the luscious cork. You can never have too much gold I always say. Thanks for looking.

That poppy die is one of my favorites, and I love the way you've used it here! Gorgeous card...

Buried treasure!!!!! Wow Miss Ellen this is so beautiful. I love how you use gold - it is even more stunning combined with cork. I bet this looks even more special in real life my friend.

Finally, Ellen! They say, good things are worth waiting for for. Well, it's a good thing this is a gorgeous cork and gold card otherwise I would have been waiting for naught. Ooooh, love the gold and your 20 year old cork has stood the test of time. I like that die set too but just don't use it often. I think it's given me inspiration! It's a beautiful card, my friend. Hope you and Ernie manage to digest all that turkey! Hugs

Thanks for giving me ideas for cork and gold. Your card is lovely. Just wanted to let you know I found two widths of cork ribbon (1-1/2" and 2-1/2") at our local Pat Catan stores and found that I could die cut it and stamp on it. Thanks again for sharing this card.
This is striking. How great that you had this cork from years ago because it is definitely back in style now. The justaposition of the cork and gold is really cool.
