For this week's very fun technique challenge. Here's the card I'm CASEing: QFTD165 rules for quilting by tessaduck at Splitcoaststampers
It was one of my first inlaid die cuts, and I used layering. Lots. This time, I did the inlaid die cut directly, without the layers. I also used embossing rather than dp.
Also for this week's grandmother's house CAS challenge. There is a real danger with challenges like these, when a certain famiy constellation is assumed, and some folks might be excluded. See, three of my grandparents had already passed long before I was born, and my maternal grandmother soon after. Also, she lived more than a thousand miles away, so I have very vague memories of her. She must have been a quilter, though. I still have the crib quilt she tied for me. It's a very simple quilt, so I chose a nine patch rather than a LeMoyne star, like the card I CASEd. Unfortunately, I think it looks more like a window than a quilt block.
At any rate, I'd like to think that if we'd had a relationship, she would have enjoyed sewing with me.

Beautiful. I love quilts, so this caught my eye. Love how you stamped your squares. You positioned them so nicely. Great job with the inlaid quilt. Both of your cards are great. TFS

This is a lovely card. I agree with what you wrote. I only met one grandmother and can just barely remember that her house was brown. No other memories. She sold the house when I was under four and lived with various of her children until I was twenty. I am glad you had a small memory for a card. Marti

Wow! This little miniature is a masterpiece, Brenda!! I love the copper and the beautiful little patterns. The embossing adds a nice texture to this beauty!

I LOVE this, Brenda! As a former quilter 9-patch is what I did. The font of that sentiment is awesome- particularly the word "sew". Love your take on this challenge!

Love the combination of Swiss Dots and the inlaid quilt, such a textile feeling overall.
I only really knew one of my grandparents. My maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather were long dead before I appeared on the scene, and my maternal grandfather lived in Canada, so I only ever met him once, when I was 5. I don't remember much, probably wouldn't remember anything except for having seen a few family snaps from the time. The grandmother I did know must have loved books, she always chose the most beautiful ones for gifts. But I think of her as a gardener.
