This is a fun image for stamping beyond the main panel even if it is sort of cheating because the image is already like that. But, cutting the main part out and popping it up gives it a more stamping off the edge look. I used embossing fluid and gold powder on the edges and stenciled a bit of design on the open space. This is a very old stamp from Magenta and has a lot of grain lines on it for shading which actually makes it harder to color as far as I'm concerned...I like to be able to add my own interpretation of shading instead of having all the little black lines....what do you think?

Miss Robin, this is so beautiful and elegant - I love the soft background and the way it ties into the gold edging - I forget to do that technique, but I love the look. The blues with the rose, along with the gold, are such a pretty muted combination, like a victorian study in primary colors. Thank you so much for hosting this week - it was a lot of fun!
